Fran celebrates 100

Care and Share travelled the mighty Port River to celebrate Fran's 100th year.

Twenty six participants, volunteers and staff enjoyed a relaxing two and a half hour Dolphin Cruise along the Port River at Port Adelaide as a special treat for Fran's birthday celebrations.  The captain announcing Fran's one hundredth birthday led to the whole boat joining in the happy birthday song.

Fran enjoyed her meal of fish, chips and salad, and a Pavlova for dessert.  She particularly enjoyed receiving a card with all the Care and Share signatures on it, as well as seeing the dolphins.  She was not shy about showing everyone her certificate of acknowledgement from the Queen.

When asked by the boat staff what she has done to reach the age of 100, with a big smile and twinkling eyes she replied, "I was a goodie".

Thanks to Kiwanis for the supply of the bus for the day, and for the two wonderful volunteer bus drivers Barry and Ken.

The staff and crew of the Port Princess Dolphin Cruises were extremely helpful caring for the safety and pleasure of our group.  Thanks very much.
